Promote creativity and learning safely in our community!

 

Join the Art Gallery of Sudbury / Galerie d’art de Sudbury for an Art in the Park creative experience! Families and individuals ages 5 yrs and up are invited to join us for a variety of inspired and imaginative activities at Bell Park.

 

Participants will meet at the large Bell Park pavilion on the specified dates and times. Space is very limited and must be booked 24 hrs in advance. All art materials are provided in a sanitized sealed bag. Masks are encouraged and social distancing is mandatory.

STORY TIME IN THE PARK:
Take a break in the shade to listen to one of our favorite art inspired kid books titled PIGASSO & MOOTISE. Each participant will receive a small booklet to create their own story and illustrations using various drawing materials. Registration is closed.

GROUP OF SEVEN IN THE PARK:
Learn about the group of seven and various watercolour techniques, to create your very own landscape painting inspired by the Group of Seven and the beauty of Bell Park. Registration is closed.

Recycled in the Park:
Receive a mystery bag full of recycled materials to create a mask inspired by local artist Heather Topp. Register here.

Still Life in the Park
Learn about the colorful world of fauvism and draw from a still life set up by the AGS with oil pastels.Register here.

Woodland Art in the ParK:
Learn about famous Woodland Canadian painter Norval Morrisseau, and create a painting inspired by his work, using stencils and watercolour paints.Register here.

PRINTMAKING IN THE PARK: :
Explore the beautiful world of printmaking by simply using natural found items around you. Register here.

MINDFULNESS IN THE PARK PART 2:
Families will participate in a 35-minute yoga practice lead by certified Hatha Yoga teacher Sarah Blondin, then enjoy a relaxing intuitive watercolour painting class. Register here.

YAYOI KUSAMA IN THE PARK:
Learn about contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama and create an abstract painting using objects instead of paintbrushes. Register here.

GEORGIA O’KEEFFE IN THE PARK:
Learn about world famous painter Georgia O’Keeffe in front of the beautiful Bell Park flower garden. Participants will create an oil pastel drawing on black paper inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s close up flower paintings. Register here.
